Beers, Tears and Cheers with The Bowgie Inn

The sun isn’t just shining on Rio this summer, it’s beaming over The Bowgie Inn and determined not to let England’s early exit dampen your spirits, they’ve designed a competition to keep us in a football frenzy.

Just because England have been knocked out of the World Cup, doesn’t mean the fun is over yet.
With The Bowgie Inn’s ‘Watch and Win’ competition, even if you didn’t make it to Rio, you can still revel in the excitement as the tournament heats up.

The famous Pink Pub is giving one lucky winner a VIP experience to rival that of any WAG.

So what will the experience entail?

Well a cordoned off private area will be made available with personal table service, Burgers and Chips, 2 x 4 pint pitchers of Carling throughout and all this on the best sofa in the house, amidst an electric atmosphere.

But what’s an experience like this if it’s not shared? Well fear not, to top it off, we’ll be offering the winner and their best mate the opportunity, so you’ll have the memories to share.

All you need to do to enter the competition is to answer one simple question via The Bowgie’s Facebook page. The competition closes on Wednesday 9th July, so you need to hurry, entries are free and don’t forget to Like the page while you’re there.

Longboard Championships Postponed!

So you'll remember from our earlier post, that we're super excited about the Longboard Championships coming to Crantock, especially so, being that we're sponsoring the event.

But you may want to rethink your weekend plans if they involved seeing the Championships this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Don't fear! The event hasn't been cancelled but due to the lack of waves (in part we can't really complain, with this glorious weather), it's just too flat out there. The event will now take place on the 28th and 29th of June.

So here's what we suggest you do instead...

Seeing as the sunshine is here to stay - well for the weekend at least, why not head for stroll around the West Pentire Headland, take in the gorgeous views and work up an appetite. Now is a great time to see Cornwall at its best so why not invite friends down and make it a special weekend.

Follow with a night at the Bowgie, where you can enjoy an ice old beer in our gardens and indulge in a menu packed full scrummy summer food that won't get you all hot and bothered. Alternatively you can tuck into a steak, with plenty of offers on, you'll be sure to spare change for some Ben&Jerry's.

Yes that's right - you heard it here first we officially stock the ice-cream that gets everyones mouths watering and what better timing, than when Cornwall is in full blown scorchio mode!

Here's a list of all the flavours:

Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Caramel Chew Chew, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cookie Dough, Greek Yoghurt Vanilla or Greek Yoghurt Strawberry Shortcake.

Now whilst we can't promise that the World Cup will be the same without the England team, we can soothe any broken hearts by showing you the rest of the matches on our supreme HD 70" screens.

We don't know about you, but we definitely have that Friday feeling - roll on the weekend!

Summer Strolls at The Bowgie Inn

The blissful sun shining over Cornwall has brought the County to life, and we can’t help but feel a bit glib that we may just live in one of the most stunning corners of the earth.

Here at the Bowgie we’ve been soaking up the summer fun, with everything from the World Cup frenzy to a refreshing pint in our Beer Garden with friends, overlooking the glistening turquoise waters on the horizon.

Let’s face it, who wants to be stuck indoors in this?! And Crantock is the place to be.

Boasting some of the most breathtaking views in Cornwall, the West Pentire Headland makes for the perfect coastal stroll.

Whilst being wowed by the scenery along the 3.3 mile walk, you’ll realise this was just what you needed. See whole fields scarlet with poppies and other rare meadow plants, with lots of sandy grassland, rich in wild flowers, like cowslip and pyramidal orchid.
In fact the West Pentire headland is a site of ‘special scientific interest’ for its spectacular array of wild flowers and rare plants.

The rugged coastline, with its little inlets, gullies and coves can be seen along the way, and, if you’re lucky, you’ll even catch a glimpse of a seal or two, as they regularly frequent this area, using the rocks to rest or sunbathe on when it’s warm.

Can we top that? Well of course!

Every glorious day is followed by an unforgettable night at the Bowgie, and with live acts, an Ale Festival, not to mention the World Cup bonanza and delicious food, we’ve got something for everybody.
