New Heights

Some people Can.
Some people Do.
Some people Can and Do.
The Bowgie Inn’s very own Sally Pickles is one of those people.
‘What has she done?’ I hear you cry.
She’s only gone and climbed mount Kilimanjaro, that’s what!

Sally’s boots aren’t just made for walking; they are made for fund raising too. Even after her trek to the Everest base camp in 2012, she knew she could challenge herself to reach new fund-raising heights.
It’s an inevitable fact of life that we will all experience loss at some point and Cornwall Hospice Care are there to provide invaluable care and comfort to patients and their families. Sally was deeply moved by the work carried out so lovingly by the staff at the Mount Edgcombe and St Julia hospice, she decided climbing 5895m to the summit of Kilimanjaro was the least she could do.
What’s next for Sally now she has been there, done that, got the t-shirt and a few blisters to prove it?
Who knows, but while she decides, maybe a nice walk from the Bowgie Inn around Crantock will have to do for now!
